Who We Work With
The people at the centre of the work
- Children in Classes 1–8, especially first-generation learners in government schools
- Adolescent girls at the point where families most often decide to stop their schooling
- Youth between school and work, who need both skills and the confidence to use them
- Women in rural and urban-poor households, through collectives they run themselves
- Teachers in government and low-fee schools, as colleagues rather than targets
- Communities — parents, panchayats, school management committees, local groups

Language
Learning begins in the language a child speaks at home, and bridges outward from there.
Gender
Every programme is examined for who it quietly leaves out — usually girls and women.
Inclusion
Children with disabilities are planned for from the first design meeting, not accommodated afterwards.

Materials and findings are published for anyone to use, adapt and criticise.
